The Farm Hub started as the Seed Incubator Farm in 2015. After rebranding a few times, we have just come into our new name, and some of our programming has changed to accommodate our soon-to-be-opening Food Hub.
We run both an office space and a nursery/farm stand. If you would like to visit our site, we recommend coming during our business hours (Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 am – 4:30 pm). Although our nursery/farm stand is not open to the public on Mondays, we often have staff working onsite in the office on this day. If you need to speak with a staff member on Mondays, please call or email us at email@example.com so we can set up an appointment.
Besides our market farm, nursery, and farm stand, we also operate two community gardens – the Elders Gardens and the Inclusion Gardens. In addition to this, we facilitate the Resiliency Project.
We aim to provide high-quality and affordable products for our community members.
We are hoping to open the Cowichan Food Hub in early 2023. We know that things have been majorly delayed, but our team has been working hard to make sure that when we do open, you are satisfied with our facilities and program offerings.
This food hub will be home to a shared-use kitchen for local food processors and community members to use and will be home to a distribution warehouse.
Yes! This is true. The Cow-Op will be moving into our warehouse on the distribution side, where they will have ample space to continue connecting local farmers with the Cowichan Region community.
Once open, we will have a 4800 sqft space to call home. It will house a shared-use kitchen, a training room, an office space, washrooms, ample cold storage, and distribution space for the Cow-Op.
Events, Workshops, Courses
Please reach out to us! We don’t like turning people away due to cost, so we will work with you to find a way that you can attend.
For every event, workshop, or course we host, we encourage you to email us at least 72 hours before the start of an event so that we can try our best to accommodate any needs you may have.
If there is no email address listed on the event page, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org, and they will put you in contact with the event organizer.
Nursery & Farm Stand
We sell a variety of native and medicinal plants, vegetable starts, and locally adapted seeds.
Nope! Feel free to stop by 2431 Beverly St. in Duncan at any time during our business hours, and we’d be happy to help you find what you’re looking for or to answer any questions you might have.
While monitored, kids and pets are more than welcome to come on-site. We ask that pets are on a leash, that owners clean up after them, and that they remain outside should you need to go indoors. We are a working farm, and as such, we operate machinery on site, so please be diligent and keep tabs on your kids and pets if you bring them with you.
You can buy our products both onsite and through the Cow-Op.
Do you have any other questions that we didn't answer?
We love hearing from people what questions they have about our awesome program and try our best to answer any and all questions. Shoot us a message if you don’t see the answer to your question above!
